Dismissal Appeal LetterResume Cover Letters » Sample Letters » Appeal Letters » Dismissal Appeal Letter A dismissal is always unpleasant and undesirable. Dismissal from school, college or job might affect the career in the long haul. Sometimes a dismissal is due to the misconduct or violation of certain rules and regulations. Sometimes, the person who is dismissed might not find the reason of dismissal valid, and can thus appeal against the dismissal action. The appeal has to be given in a written format. For this, the appellant uses the dismissal appeal letter. A dismissal appeal letter is written to request the decision maker to reconsider the decision of dismissal taken against the appellant. The format of any appeal letter is as follows:
The two sample dismissal appeal letters given below will put more light on the idea of writing a letter of appeal for dismissal. 1. Sample Dismissal Appeal Letter 13th October, 2011 To, Re: Appeal to reconsider the dismissal order against me - Mercy White, Emp. code - I 145 Dear Mr. Jack, I am Mercy White, and I appeal you to reconsider the dismissal announcement against me. A dismissal order has been issued against me on 7th October, 2011. I have been working with ISoftTech since 2 years, and have always showed complete dedication to my work. I agree that I violated the company rules and regulations, and left the office premises during the company work hours for some personal work. However, I regret the same, and apologize admitting my mistake. I assure that such a mistake will not be repeated in future. Considering my past record and contribution to the organization, I hope that I would get a second chance. I appeal you to kindly reconsider the dismissal order, and check all my records as per the biometrics, and talk to my Team Leader to verify my performance and sincerity at work. I hope that you would not let this mistake affect my career. Thank you. Sincerely, Mercy White. 2. Sample Dismissal Appeal Letter 13th October, 2011 To, Re: Appeal against dismissal of John Bull, roll no.- 123, Class- 8B Dear Father Xavier, I am John Bull, and this is to appeal you to reconsider the dismissal announced against me on 11th of October. I appeal you to reconsider the dismissal based on the facts that I believe you were not aware of. I am a student of class 8B. I was dismissed with a group of students for damaging the property of the school. However, I would like to bring to your notice, that I was not a part of this. I was with Ms. Briganza, discussing some doubts, and when I returned to the class, I saw a group of students damaging the benches and lights of the classroom. Just then Mr. Philip entered the class, and he complained against us. As I was there, he thought I too was a part of the mischief and my name came up in the dismissal list. I have attached a letter written by Ms. Briganza, which states that I was with her for a discussion and was not involved in the mischief. Please consider my appeal, and check the letter attached herewith, which would help you withdraw the dismissal action taken against me. I request you to please consider my appeal, as my one year will be wasted after being dismissed from the school and it would be difficult for me to get into other school, even after a year with this record. Thank you Sincerely, John Bull. Enclosure:
The two sample dismissal appeal letters given above are written in two different situations. In the first sample letter, the employee appeals to withdraw the dismissal order, and in the second a student appeals to withdraw the dismissal order. The purpose is same, but the situations are different. Also, you can refer to Student Appeal Letter and Unemployment Appeal Letter for more samples of cover letter. | |
