Many students complete their education with the help of financial aid from established charitable organizations. These organizations support needy students to pursue their education. Besides needy students, scholarships are also awarded to deserving students who have always excelled in academics. In some cases, the organizations choose students, and themselves hand over the scholarships. However, in other situations the students appeal for scholarship. A student appeals for scholarship based on his eligibility for the same. For this, he/she writes a scholarship appeal letter. If you too wish to apply for scholarship, you should know how to write an appeal letter for scholarship. Given below are some tips on writing an appeal letter and two sample appeal letters.

Tips to write an appeal letter:

• An appeal letter is strictly a formal letter. It should thus be written pertaining to the formal letter format, and any emotional cues should be avoided.
• It is thoroughly based on facts and evidences that make your appeal strong. Thus, make sure that the letter emphasizes on these facts and evidences.
• In terms of legal appeal, where you challenge the decision of the court, the legal sections under which you prove to be right, should be mentioned correctly
• The last paragraph of the letter serves as a summary of the entire letter. In the last paragraph, the most important facts are repeated again. This helps the reader to save on his/her time, and reading the last paragraph gives him/her complete idea of your letter.
• The references should be mentioned clearly in the beginning of the letter. Here references stand for the case number, date of hearing and judge of the decision you wish to challenge or any rejection letter number for your appeal letter. This helps the reader to easily recollect the case or decision you are talking about.
