Boss complaint letter is a way of addressing misbehavior or misconduct of your boss to the higher management. There are all kinds of bosses; good and bad. Any which way you will always come across both the kinds. However, if at all you come across a bad boss whose behavior affects your performance and mental piece, you can complain about him/ her to the higher authorities. But in doing so one must remember that often the companies tend to take sides with the senior management employees and if the complaint is indeed against a senior member, you should tread carefully and very diplomatically.

Never use strong words and never make the letter all about yourself. Rather write about how such kind of behavior will affect the company and put it in bad light. Always discuss the issue first with the other party. You can write a memo to him explaining the situation and how you would like to mutually resolve it in a peaceful manner. If still no response comes back, you may write to the higher management attaching a copy of the previous memo with it.

Whenever exchanging correspondence with the management in such cases, always maintain a record of everything and keep multiple copies to produce as proof at any given moment.

Subject- Complaint about my team leader's misconduct

Dear Sir,

This is a very unfortunate course of action, the one which I have been compelled to take as a result of continual unprofessional behavior of my team leader, Mr. Morris Evans. I am in the software testing team and have been working for the organization since last 2 years.

Last month when Mr. Morris joined us we all were more than happy to welcome him as our team leader. But lately, there has surfaced some misunderstanding between us. The problem started last month when during a software testing session, I noticed some bugs in the software and reported them to him. This, due to some reason, was not put by him in the final report for which he later on blamed me saying that identifying those bugs was my area of responsibility. Now I was confused because I had found out the bugs and reported the same to him. I am sure there must have happened some miscommunication from my end but since then I have been subjected to the same kind of behavior twice now. Sir, I can't help but notice a growing sense of distrust in him for me which is negatively affecting my performance too. I am not able to understand what is prompting such a situation to occur.

On 29th September, '11, as a protocol, I had written a memo to Mr. Morris communicating my dilemma but he hasn't yet responded to it and the state of friction between us continues to exist. Copy of the memo is attached here.

Dear Sir, I write to you with the expectation that the necessary intervention will be used and we would be helped in growing out of this situation so that we both can work single-mindedly towards achieving company targets. With this, I thank you for your time.

Yours Sincerely
