Understand the difference between funny and sarcastic

Funny complaint letters can be constructive or destructive depending upon the way you design them and the words that you have chosen to write your letter. It is also important that you know when to use them; for example if you use a funny complaint letter for a bank or maybe a professional organization, they might consider you letter as sarcastic, but if you choose your words carefully, your letter might actually do the trick without offending the reader. Remember, your intention is to get your problem solved or to improve their service to avoid such issues in future; so restrain from reflecting your frustration in the letter by drafting a sarcastic complaint letter.

It is very important for one to differentiate between humor and sarcasm. A humorous complaint letter if well written will definitely make the reader realize about the seriousness of the issue and act accordingly without getting upset or offended. On the contrary a sarcastic letter will only worsen the situation in most cases causing the reader to deliberately ignore your complaint letter.

How to use funny complaint letters?

Now that you know the difference between a funny complaint letter and a sarcastic complaint letter, the next thing you need to know is to how and when you can use a funny complaint letter. You may choose to draft a funny letter for filing a complaint in any organization whether they are a government body or not, but you need to ensure that you respect the reader's feelings no matter how severe the problem might be, and restrain from stepping out of the boundary of tolerance.

If you are drafting a complaints letter to your neighbor or a specific person, you can choose to be funny as long as you know that it will not displease or insult the reader. Again, you need to be careful to not get carried away by your cataclysmic urges/emotions while constructing your letter. Even though the person in concern is creating problems for you, you don't know if they are doing so intentionally or unintentionally. And hence, it is best to stay polite while expressing your concerns/complaints to the reader.

Respect your reader

It is not only a courtesy but also humane to respect everyone that's sharing this homeland with us. Along these years, you must have realized that you need not lend your ear to every thought that comes in your mind. You need to distinguish between inner voices and inner noises if you wish to incorporate or rather develop the true human nature. Only animals pay heed to every thought they come across; we being humans are given the ability to distinguish between productive and baneful thoughts and one should see it as a truth rather than a philosophy and try to implement it in their day-to-day lives.

Sub: Complaint regarding frequent unauthorized transactions

Dear Branch Manager,

It seems as if I'm your business partner. Don't get me wrong, but I've filed complaints about unauthorized transactions in my account number - 00134-77849 about 4-5 times previously also only to find that they keep happening at least once in 3 months.

By any chance have you mistaken me for your business client or an employee who has not showed up since a long time? Is that why random amounts are being deducted from my bank account every 3 months? I certainly get the money back once I file a complaint; there's no doubt about it because I do realize that yours is a well known and globally recognized bank and you can't afford such blunders. But the fact that I need to write one regularly makes me feel as if I am working in your communications department.

Let me make a blatant confession - I am a sucker in mathematics and statistics! So these frequent ghostly withdrawing keeps bothering me because I feel I'm helpless whenever they appear in my bank statement. I fear that confusion will be my epitaph if these withdrawals keep happening since I am not willing to close this account and take the pain of searching for another bank with a better service. I've been suffering from mental necrotic syndrome since the last 15 months for this issue has been bothering me a lot.

I bought apples recently and the next day, I was eating one while checking my bank statement online. I almost coughed a dying breath as soon as I found out that I have been charged $235.00 for those apples which was supposed to be charged $2.35 only. As usual, I checked with the store manager and their records show only a withdrawal of $2.35 from my account. I'm not frustrated, I'm really confused as to why such transactions keep happening exactly once in three months.

I have trusted your bank always and I would like to let you know that these petty issues won't change anything between us although I hope that this letter is a eulogy for the prolonged problem in my bank account that has convinced me that it's my Karma that has been hitting me like this all along. I request you to kindly resolve this issue once and for all before your Karma gets you.

Thank you so much for your co-operation.

Confusedly yours,

Scott Stewart
