Following is the letter being addressed to a noisy neighbor's landlord requesting for his intervention. Nathan Walker, nathan.walker@example.com 10th October,'11 Jack Renner jack.renner@example.com Subject- Complaint about noisy neighbor Dear Jack, How are you? We haven't seen you in a long time. We are fine here and would like the company of you and your wife this weekend at our place. Now I also wanted to take this opportunity to throw some light on a slightly pressing matter that has been disturbing us lately. The tenants to whom you have leased your flat have turned out to be some rock band musicians and these days they are busy rehearsing all night. You gave your flat on rent to Mr. Parker and his friends last week and since then they have made it a schedule to practice every night from 11 pm till late 1 pm without fail. Now as you have lived here for a good 3 years, you know how hollow these walls are. They practice in the very room that is adjacent to my bedroom, thus disturbing my sleep. By now I have even memorized, though unwillingly, all their hateful and angry lyrics. Because of this noise, I have been missing out on my sleep since last one week. I tried raising the issue with them on 29th September, '11 and they promised me that they will definitely abstain from causing any further disturbance. But sadly, things haven't improved for me. They are still burning the night oil and hitting the metal. Now I have even tried sending them a written complaint letter (dated 1st October, '11) requesting them to mind the volume but have again met with disappointment. My company audit is going on these days and I come home late at night after which all I desire is a peaceful and sound sleep. I don't wish to knock on their door again and again and fight about this. Now being a working professional yourself, you can perfectly understand my dilemma about this entire situation. You are a good friend and a very respectable figure in our circle of friends. I would appreciate if you could speak to your tenants regarding this situation and solve the matter. Meanwhile, waiting for a get together on this Saturday at my place. Yours Sincerely (Signature) Nathan Walker P.S. - For your reference, I am attaching a copy of the complaint letter written to your tenants. Observe the tone of the letter here. It is not rude or sarcastic in any way and yet it addresses the issue in full detail. Always approach your neighbors first and try resolving the issue peacefully and co-operatively. But if the neighbor turns a deaf ear on your request, then approach his landlord or the neighborhood association with a noise complaint letter.
