A police complaint letter can be written in cases of a property dispute, a theft, threats from anti-social elements and any other form of breach of rights. Being a citizen of the country, it's your right to avail of police intervention in matters as serious as these. You may, at times, come across such anti-social people who create a ruckus and disturbance in your peaceful life. In dealing with them one on one, you may cross your legal limits and by mistake commit a criminal act. So the better and advisable way is to seek police intervention.

This police complaint letter has to be addressed to the police officer in charge of the nearest police station. While writing such a letter, facts like time, date and place of the dispute need to be included. The details of the incident should be written in simple words. In case a letter has already been sent, another letter should be written stating this fact along with the date of the writing of the first letter. It should also contain the name and rank of the police officer to whom you had addressed the previous letter or spoken to over the phone.

Subject- Complaint about burglaries and murders in the area

Dear Sir,

I am residing at Park Avenue apartments for the last 3 years and all the residents here are peace loving, business-class people. Though, I would like to bring to your attention to a very pressing matter about a series of burglaries taking place in the area since last one month.

On the 11th of September,'11, there was a major burglary across the street in which the burglars killed an old lady and took away all the valuables. This case was registered with the New Orleans Police Fatality Department and assigned to Sergeant Luke Wallace. Within a time frame of 2 days, another such unfortunate incident took place just two buildings away from mine. This time the burglars broke and entered into an apartment and killed a couple and ran away with all the valuables. The Police department has still not informed us about any development in the case. Because of these heinous crimes we, all the residents at Park Avenue, are very tensed and scared.

I am, on behalf of the residents of Park Avenue, keeping in touch with the police about all the latest developments in the case but I am afraid there isn't much to feel hopeful about at this point of time. The crime rate in this area has increased multi fold in the last one year and now this latest series of murders and theft has taken away the peace and sleep of the neighborhood entirely. We, in association with the local police, have organized a neighborhood vigilance team where we have made multiple teams of 8 people who take turns and stand guard in the area all night. We rotate turns and so since the last 2 weeks there hasn't been any crime reported here. At the same time, we are very thankful to the local police department for providing us with the necessary gear like flash lights and teaser guns for our night shifts.

But on behalf of all the residents of Park Avenue and in lieu of the absence of any development in the case, I request FBI's intervention into the matter. We are sure the local police department is doing its best here but a timely and swift action is required here before the trial falls cold. Saying this we are confident that with FBI's involvement, the criminals would be brought to justice very soon.
