A Teacher to Parents Complaint Letter is an instrument in the hands of a teacher to inform the parents about their kin's wrong doings in the school. A teacher is entrusted by the parents to keep track of their children's activities and impart valuable knowledge to them. They help the children in learning new things and developing an overall personality. Since the students spend a major chunk of their time in the school, the teachers tend to know them better and thus handle them accordingly. Teachers know the strengths and weaknesses of children and can help them in identifying their strong points and motivate them to work on the weak points. A teacher can help the student with his/ her thought process and enable him to have a clear sense about his future career option. Many students with conflicting views and ideas approach their teachers to get an idea about what to do in future. So the teachers play roles of both, a friend and a guide.

While performing all these activities a teacher needs to keep the child's parents in loop. They should be aware about their child's activities at school. For this reason they need to be in constant touch with the parents and be easily approachable by them. Parent -teacher meetings organized by the school precisely serve this purpose. But a teacher to parent complaint letter comes handy when the teacher, on an urgent basis, wants to inform the parents about the child's misconduct in the class. Following is a sample letter.

Subject- Complaint about Jeremy Harper's misconduct in class and non-punctuality

Dear Stephanie,

I am Jeremy's class teacher and I am writing to you for reporting his frequent misconduct in the class. He is also getting very irregular with his home assignments.

Yesterday, on 10th October, '11, Jeremy broke into a fight with his classmate Ben Rietman. The incident happened in the middle of my classroom session and so I was shocked. On talking to the students, many of them told me about his errant behavior and how he has in the past, assaulted his classmates in the playground and the canteen. One of my other concerns was regarding his non-punctuality with home assignments. Last week I had given the class an assignment about writing an essay which was to be done over the weekend. But he never did it and so I had to detain him and make him do it in school. Two days ago, on 9th October,'11, again the same thing happened when he didn't bring in his latest homework to class.

Mrs. Harper, please understand my concern behind writing this letter to you. Being his class teacher, I have certain responsibilities towards him and towards other children too. At Scotsman Public School, we teach them about peaceful co-existence and the value of knowledge. On-campus ragging or bullying is not tolerated here as we want an overall and healthy growth for the children both psychologically and intellectually. And whenever a child makes a mistake, it comes upon us to help him/ her to get back on the right path. I hope to tend to this matter together with you and ensure that Jeremy's performance, from now on, only improves.

Yours Sincerely

(Signature)

Ann Joseph
