2. Sample Congratulations Letter - Informal

Dear Lisa,

My sweet little angel, your grandpa is proud to see you in this convocation picture that you sent me. I didn't realize that time had passed by so soon, that my little princess singing nursery rhymes is today a Journalism Post Graduate pass out.

Lisa I remember, as a child while watching television with me, you would always say that you wish to be a journalist. Today you have fulfilled your dream and I wish you all the best for your career. I am sure that you would become a responsible journalist and succeed in your career.

Another thing that makes me proud and I think even you should be proud of, is that you have completed your studies without any help from your parents. Right after your high school, you decided to work and support your studies. I remember you selling those jam bottles in the church, later working at the Pizza outlet, and then finally with a press, as an intern. You always were very determined, and knew what you wanted from life. I am sure your parents would also be proud to have such a wonderful child. At the age when children demand gifts and gadgets from their parents, you only focused on your dream of becoming a journalist, and never asked them for anything.

I would also like to apologize for not attending your convocation. I wished to but my health didn't support me, and I could not make it.
