Fire Department Fundraising Letter

A fire department fundraising program would entail requesting and gathering of funds for the smooth working of the fire department and/ or for employee welfare programs. These funds may be needed for purchasing new equipment (new fire brigade trucks, hose pipes, uniforms, safety gear, etc).

Fundraising is done in various fields- for social services, for administrative purposes, for event organizing and many more such purposes.

A fire department fundraising can be both, a charity letter as well as a request letter to higher authorities asking them to allocate more funds. It is done by the department writing request letters for fundraising to various people and departments hoping to get their cooperation. It can be done by either writing a direct letter to certain individual/ department or, in case of charity, writing a letter inviting voluntary donations.

Subject- Requesting revised funds for procuring new equipment for Asbury Fire Department

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to put forward my request of a fund revision for our Asbury fire department. The current funds scheme has fallen short of the required financial needs because of which my department is facing functional problems.

Firstly, the Asbury fire department needs at least two new fire trucks. The town has considerably spread area-wise in the last four years. Back then we had four fire trucks. But now with the expanded geographical area, we need to be on our toes even more than before. To cover that much large an area, we need at least two new trucks.

Secondly, we need to procure new hose pipes as the old ones have outrun their course.

The next reason is that in our last annual meeting, it was decided for the men here, that concessional school facilities would be provided to their children and the local fire department will be responsible for it. I have twenty-five men working in the Asbury fire department and accordingly, I require the funding to start this scheme due 21st November. The authorizing letters are in place and I am attaching copies of them here for your reference.

I hope you understand the urgency of our requirements and would duly take the required steps to pass our funds so that we can quickly put them to use. May I also take this opportunity to reiterate that the funds will help us strengthen our fire fighting operations as we will be getting new and more efficient aforementioned gear for the department.
