Condolence leave letter is written just for the purpose as the name indicates. Death is the most unexpected tragedy that could hit a person or a family; anyone in the family if passes away, it becomes a suffering for the rest of the members in the family. Condolence leave letter is issued when someone close in the family or friends dies. This letter can be written after the leave, or just after the death before taking leave. Hence, I request you to grant me leave for 5 days, as I will be taking some time to conduct all the rites of the funeral, and bring myself out of this misery. Thanking You Sample 2 Condolence leave letter: (mother's death) 2nd December, 2011 To, Dear Mr. Thomas I am writing this letter to inform you about the sadness that has hit my family due to my mother's death. Today morning my mother got a sudden cardiac attack, which she could not survive. I have lost my mother, and am really sad about the truth. She was put on to ventilators for 2 hours, but that could not help to make her any better. I have arranged for prayer services after the funeral rites get over, tomorrow. I will be coming for work from 5th of December, if you would grant me the leave till then. I am the only son of the family, and I have a lot of responsibilities on my shoulder, I will take some time to come out of this tragedy.
