Residency Recommendation Letter

Traveling to another country and staying there is not very simple. If you are not a citizen of that country, you will need a strong recommendation to be able to reside in that particular country. This becomes essential because no country will want to allow someone with good record on papers, but skeptic in reality to reside there, and pose problems later. Thus, to get the permission for residing, usually requires a residency recommendation letter. Someone who is authorized to do so, or who is capable of making a recommendation will write this letter for you. We would discuss the same, but we will first discuss what a residency recommendation letter is.

What is a letter of residency recommendation?

Suppose that you are the citizen of country ‘A’, and you are pursuing a course or working in country ‘B’. You might get an accommodation from your employer, college, etc., but you might at times need an accommodation for yourself, and in such cases you need this letter.

Since you are an immigrant in that particular country, the authorities of that country take utmost care that you do not cause any nuisance or threat to their citizens. They would thus, need a recommendation letter, which is like a character certificate or a reference letter that assures your normalcy.

Who can write a residency recommendation letter?

This letter can be written by two individuals. Someone from your home country or someone from the immigrant country can do this for you. A letter from home country will work only if the person writing the letter is well known and a respected individual in the country you wish to immigrate. A letter written by anyone else would not make much difference to the query of authorities of the immigrant country. This is because neither do they know you, nor the person writing the letter for you.

If you immigrate to a country as a student, your professors can write a letter for you. If you work with an organization, your boss can write a letter for you. These people are already residing in that country, and thus have all the rights to recommend someone.

Why would someone need residency permission?

As mentioned above, one might need to shift from the recommendation provided by an organization or college. Consider the example of a student who wishes to take up a part time job, and the hostel timings are not in sync with the job timings. In this situation, the student would need an accommodation, and thus need a residency recommendation letter.

Alternatively, someone working with an organization might have got a shared accommodation, and is now willing to get his wife or children with him, would need a separate accommodation. This letter will help him get a good accommodation for himself.

I assure you that he is a decent and sober person, and is not involved in any kind of criminal or illegal activities.

I thus, request you to consider his residency application, and approve the same.
