Probationary Termination Letter

Probationary termination letter is written to inform the candidate that his services are terminated during probation period allotted to him. It is a kind of formal letter where you reject the candidate on account of some difficulty or problem with his work.

During the probation period if the candidate is not able to give his best performance, according to the expectation of the company, then the company has the authority to write a termination letter to him. It should follow certain procedures or manner.

• It should be in formal tone
• You should be polite in conveying the message of termination rather than directly attacking the candidate
• It should not have an accusing tone but should be a little mellow and polite as you are causing pain to the candidate who is being terminated
• You should not be harsh in disclosing company's decision
• You can refer to the agreement or terms and conditions entered into while informing the person

Thus, your letter should not have a threatening tone. While writing such letters you can start with expressing a feeling of sadness to inform that the services are being terminated and the receiver is expected to follow the directives and cooperate with the company's decision. The Company has a right to draft a termination letter as per agreement entered into with prior notice. The candidate is required to follow such directions as per legal procedure.
